Bundesgesetzblatt 03.08.2011. Consumers will be liable for compensation for the use or for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the characteristics and functioning of the goods and only if the trader has previously pointed out these consequences. This brings a limitation for the traders in comparison to the previous regulation in this regard. The up to now current legally binding instruction on the right of revocation and return (Widerrufs- und Rückgabebelehrung) can be used only until 04.11.2011. From this date, the new instructions are applicable.
